How to Send a Fax Without a Fax Machine
Step-by-step guide: send a fax from your browser, through the TGX Printer, or with the app. No fax machine, no phone line.

Nobody needs a fax machine on their desk anymore. Yet public authorities, medical practices, and many companies still require faxes, because a transmission with a delivery report is documented. Here is how to send a fax digitally in just a few minutes.
Option 1: From the browser
- Sign in to the customer center.
- Upload your document (PDF, Word, or image).
- Enter the recipient number, for example
+49 30 1234567. - Click Send.
After transmission you will find the qualified delivery report as a PDF in your sending archive. It documents the date, time, recipient number, and transmission result.
Option 2: Through the TGX Printer
The TGX Printer installs as a virtual printer on Windows, macOS, and Linux. You print from Word, your ERP, or any other application, pick the fax channel in the dialog, and enter the recipient number. No PDF export, no upload.
Option 3: With the app
With the iOS and Android apps you photograph a document directly with your camera and send it as a fax. The app straightens the image automatically. You can also send typed text as a fax without any document at all (text-to-fax).
When does the fax arrive?
Usually within a few minutes. If the receiving line is busy, we automatically retry the delivery several times. The delivery report informs you about the result.
A common pitfall: the format
PDFs in A4 format work most reliably. Very small font sizes (below 10 points) can be hard to read on the receiving end, because fax transmits at a fixed resolution.
